Тhe Folk Ensemble "Tikves" is working at the Center of culture "Ivan Mazov-Klime" from Kavadarci as its integral program part.

The Centar of culture from Kavadarci which is caring for Macedonian national and folk tradition has been practicing it since its establishment in 1953 so today it is a career of whole folk activity and that is the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" who participates successfully on the scenes in Macedonia and abroad, with three active categories of dancers, who if it is necessary, are added up with the members of the existing folk school which exists successfully in the frames of the house, with it, at the moment , there are over 200 enthusiasts of the Macedonian folk, who are regular members of Folk Ensemble "Tikves": The long period of activity of the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" has come to that stage, that the Macedonian folk songs and dances as well as folk tradition to be seen and listened, not only on the scenes of Macedonia but also through many scenes in the European countries, taking participation in to eminent festivals visits and tours. Up to 2004 the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" took part in Turkey, Slovenia, Romania, Serbia, Germany, Croatia, Hungary and Bulgaria.

The great program's repertory of the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" includes more choreographies of the Macedonian folk dances song and mix of dances among them are "Nevestinsko oro" (Bride's Dance) , "Tresenica" , "Kalajdzisko" , "Staro Tikvesko" (Old Tikves), "Shaino", mixes "Istocna Macedonia" (East Macedonia), "Povardarie" , "Zaspalo devojce" , mix "Egejski igri" (Egej's dance), mix "Skopski igri" (Skopje's dances) mix "Grozdober" , mix "Prespanski igri". etc.

All the choreographies are performed in the original Macedonian folk clothes and are joined by an orchestra of folk instruments, with its way of work the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" although definition it follows all the criteria and principles of work, characteristic for this type of ensemble's.

The great enthusiasm the love towards Macedonian folk and wish the same to be presented to all the meridians, based on tradition and with the great membership, as a guarantee for peaceful future are the basic characteristics of the Folk Ensemble "Tikves" from Kavadarci, Republic of Macedonia. The city of Kavadarci is the center of the biggest wine region on Balkan, The Tikvesh Region.
